Summary/Abstract: In 2005 and 2006 the Commission to Preserve National Monuments implemented the project to protect the fragments of the Aladža Mosque in Foča, funded by the US Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation. During the project the archival and other material required to identify the existing condition of the property was assembled, the methodology to be applied was defined, expert teams were set up, the property was physically secured, the fragments of the mosque that had been discovered were logged, the site was cleared, soil was removed from the foundation walls and the remains of the walls were physically protected, and fragments were transferred from two newly-discovered sites.
