REGIONAL CONFLICTS AND GLOBAL SOLUTIONS – THE FORMER YUGOSLAVIA

Summary/Abstract: The rapid collapse of communism in Central and Eastern Europe, the demilitarization of political, geographical spaces, the ideological and spiritual liberalization, as well as the internal developments in regard to the disappearance of Tito’s regime, have put Yugoslavia in front of a new situation, with an irreversible effect in the entire Eastern European geopolitical area. In Yugoslavia, the process of democratic transformation degenerated into hatred and intolerance, into a bloody war, with regional and global impact that is difficult to predict.
