(significant part of which are used for the first time); collections of sources; evidence from the central and local press, and specialized literature the article thoroughly reveals the main aspects of the development of the economic life in the towns of Southern Dobrudzha in the period from 1912 to 1916. It is in stagnation during the Balkan wars (1912.1913) because of the constant commandeering difficulties in the supply of goods, raw materials and the mobilization of the most active urban population in Dobrudzha. Then in the years of the first Romanian administration in 1913.1916 it is in crises, caused by the policy of denationalization and assimilation.
