Periodicals about the «Alexander Nevsky» movie. 1938-1939 (part I).

Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes the articles in Soviet periodicals, devoted to the premiere and subsequent film service of the S. M. Eisenstein picture «Alexander Nevsky». The authors pay special attention to critical responses on the movie, which have been insufficiently explored to this day. Using materials found in contemporary newspapers, scholars disprove the idea that the film was banned after the signing of the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact.
