Summary/Abstract: The article intends to present the main baselines of the unity of Christians according to the Decree on Ecumenism Unitatis Redintegratio of John Paul II. In the first chapter of the Decree have been presented the ground rules of ecumenism. In the second article of Unitatis Redintegratio one enumerates and describes particular rules of ecumenical movement. The first section talks over works of Jesus himself for the unity: incarnation as a unification of the mankind, prayer for the unity and institution of Eucharist as the signs of unity of the church and finally prayer for love and the promise of the Holy Spirit. The second section presents effect of the Holy Spirit for the unity in Christ. The third one concerns the visible shape of church in the perspective of the threefold office of the apostle collegium. Section fourth speaks about self-realization of the church in right preaching of Evangelium, administrating of sacraments and conducting in love. Section fifth recalls the content of the Dogmatic Constitution on the Church referred to the features of the idea of God’s people. The sixth section interprets the mystery of the Holy Trinity as a model and rule of unity.
