Summary/Abstract: Flexibility is one of the most important individual and organizational competencies that influence the increase of adaptability to changing conditions. On one hand, it ensures adaptation to changes, on the other – their creation. The latter aspect justifies the analysis of flexibility with respect to innovation. The goal of this article is to present the empirical research on, among others, the relation between innovative behaviour and the dimension of individual and organizational flexibility. The results of the research indicate a significant role of three main predicators of innovative behaviour: cognitive and behavioural flexibility, functional flexibility and readiness for change. They constitute the dimensions of individual flexibility, however, no influence of organizational flexibility on employee innovative behaviour was observed.
