570 YEARS OF THE FIRST MENTIONING OF POČITELJ (1444-2014)

Summary/Abstract: In 2014 is the 570th anniversary of the first mentioning of Počitelj in historical sources. This jubilee is worth of apostrophizing and highlighting its characteristics, Medieval and Ottoman history, above all as important cultural and tourist attractions of our country, it is an opportunity to draw attention to this place and role in history as well as to certain dilemmas we faced in its study. At this point, imperative of contextualization is in the oldest history of Počitelj, which takes the mythical and legendary descriptions in the absence of sources.
