Summary/Abstract: Bosnian genocide and the intended termination of the country as a subject are preceded by two political arrangements – the Cvetković-Maček agreement from 1939, and the Milošević-Tuđman agreement from 1991 on the principles equal to those of the first mentioned deal, which are concerned with division of Bosnia into a Croat and a Serb territory, each of which was supposed to be integrated into a Greater Croatia and Greater Serbia. Ideological concepts of division of Bosnia, in which the very presence of Bosniaks is recognized as the basic obstacle in execution of the project, are still dominant in the proclaimed positions of Croatian political elites. The fact that the Dayton Peace Accord was signed by two foreign countries shows that preservation of peace in Bosnia depends on the positions of these countries, their intentions and their policies. With paying special attention to the case of the town of Stolac, publicly promoted views and positions on Bosniaks and the Bosnian state will be presented in this paper, including both the views of current leading politicians from Republic of Croatia, as well as the views of Bosnian Croat politicians coming from nominally Croat political organizations.
