Summary/Abstract: As an author, Magris pursues the pulsating life, fragments of it, things appearing in plethora and proving inconstant. He acts in defence of metamorphosis and coming-into-existence – against any power or authority that would be willing to obstruct it. Following Michel Staedter’s concept, this author contrasts rhetorics with persuasion signifying the ability of living in the present, without reaching for a future, or pursuing an outcome. In his view, utopia is adjusted for disillusionment that renders it more specific, and real(istic). Lastly, literature has to tackle the gap between looking for a unity in the sphere of axiology and respecting the otherness.
