Summary/Abstract: In this paper the author takes an etymological review on the topical patronymic from the zone around Kosovo, family names, villages and cities: Berisha, Blaku, Busavata Çagllavice, Çitaku, Daci, Istok, Kaçanik, Kuqi, Kumanovo, Lipjani, Magura, Metohija, Peja, Prizren, for who gives different explanations from those given earlier by other authors. In explaining toponym as historical source should not start from predetermined judgments of their origin, but other principles followed by more scientific theory inhabitants of populated areas. Of course, the etymology is not easy to hit the mark, but with a more scientific method with a new glance, it seems fair to the names of settlements to see their etimoni in general a selfish name name and not an apelativ .
