Summary/Abstract: Albanian literacy of Kosovo with its best values, particularly poetry, same as entire Albanian literacy, expresses some essences of Al-banian life and human life in general and discovers unrepeated beauty of Albanian language in whole its spectrum. Albanian literacy in Kosovo is a literacy created in circumstances of deficiency of national freedom and as a sign of endeavors to gain it, but also to preserve language, tradition, culture and identity threatened by invader. Aware of its historical position Albanian intelligence in ex-Yugoslavia has continually confronted, by all means, thus also with the weapon of art and the written word, Yugoslavian de-nationalistic politics, which posed as a goal not only weakening of historical memory of Albanian population remaining outside of the motherland, but also its physical extinction. Censure, auto-censure and tabu-themes associated all the time its development. According to critic opinion Albanian literacy in Kosovo passed through three main stages of its development, which present three models or structures of literary writing: 1. Structure of pathos and didactics, 2. Structure of realization and of lyrics and 3. Structure of myth and symbol.6 Third phase is by all means the richest and most complex. In this phase act different writers’ generations and individualities, of different styles and schools, sometimes even diametrically opposite: from those traditional to avant-garde ones. Thereupon this phase could be called also a period of pluralism in style and of modernized expression.
