The Postmodern Triumph

Summary/Abstract: This article treats two novels of Ridvan Dibra: The Triumph of Gjergj Elez Alia and The Second Triumph of Gjergj Elez Alia. Turning the myth into parody, Dibra is a true virtuoso of allegorical expression, but also of irony,grotesque, sarcasm and parable, which are commonly used in his style, through which he invented the meanings and myths of our time, such as: Viagra, internet, nightclubs, or bordello, fancy cars, and VIP politicians and pseudo-artists, with whom Egoboka (or Albania) is full in the post-Bajlozi period, or post-totalitarianism.
