The temptation of Homo Europaeus by Victor Neumann from the Serbian-Croatian cultural perspective

Summary/Abstract: The article aims a scientific debate based on the book written by Victor Neumann "Temptation of Homo europaeus" in an attempt to define the process of modernization and europeanization that the Balkan-Danubian area known in modern times. It is an area characterized by profound interference on culture, language and civilization. Miodrag Maticki conceptualizes and extends Neumann's vision, considering the Danube as a cultural corridor where have circulated and were synthesized ideas and models which all have contributed to an original synthesis which can be generically called "Homo Danubius".
