Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is an attempt to answer the question: is there only one model of the Asian economic development? The analysis of this problem will be made using two theories: the “flying geese theory” created by Akamatsu and the dynamic theory of comparative advantage created by Ozawa. The author focuses special attention on the circumstances which had a significant contribution to the economic success of East Asian countries. The article also includes the rankings of GDP growth, high-technology exports (as % of manufactured exports) and FDI inward and outward stock.
