Summary/Abstract: On June 19th, 2001, the Parliament of Hungary voted by an extremely large majority (93%) in favor of the Law LXII, regarding the status of Hungarians from abroad; despite its title, the new law was referring only to ethnic Hungarians in Croatia, Yugoslavia, Rumania, Slovenia, Slovakia and Ukraine – so, not even people from all Hungary’s neighboring countries, as Austria’s Hungarians were left to rest in peace. The most numerous Hungarian minorities outside Hungary are the ones in Romania
