Summary/Abstract: The article is an analysis and presentation of moral education concepts as seen in theories by some representatives of philosophy. The author also analyses and estimates the importance of moral education in relation with pop music — an artistic instrument of the contemporary social context. The relation between temporary and eternal values in philosophers' works and moral development of school learners (using the pop music potential) are discussed in the article in the aspect of musical education. The contemporary sociocultural situation raises new requirements for optimising of the educational process. In the modern society, it is the spiritual degradation (the unlimited feeling of liberty, total relaxation leading to crime, drug abuse, disregarding legal acts, etc.), i.e. the tendency to "forget" moral attitudes that causes the most worry. Such a tendency is a presupposition for the need to build moral fundamentals since early childhood, so it is based on goodness, beauty and truth. The school should become the moral microclimate where a child could develop as a member of a harmonious and sensible society. Such a microclimate should help the child in forming a system of humanist values. The personality of a teacher (educator) having positive general human and pedagogical features is expected to be in such an atmosphere the light that would spark children's hearts in the teacher-learner discourse, as moral education is only successful in a course of humane interaction. Therefore, moral education and fostering ofhumanist values in the process of the contemporary society's changing is one of the most significant educational objectives rising from the educational reform and its development. The importance of the issue chosen for scientific analysis lies in the special interest of children in pop music as well as the existing controversy in the evaluations of impact such music has. A person is, as a rule, a creation of one's own time period and society. Therefore, scientists have been analysing in different aspects the possibilities for personality development because of estimation of the relation between human belonging to many dimensions and culture in philosophy. It is important to analyse this experience of the mankind in order to apply it while solving significant issues of contemporary pedagogy and, in this particular case, moral development of primary school learner personalities us-mgpop music.
