Social services for elderly families – status quo and perspectives

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the essence of social services for seniors and their families, the definition of social services, blind spots and scope of services. It presents a definition of a senior family in the wide context of demographic, social and economic changes as well as in the model of family and care itself. The author tries to show the connection between welfare services, social services and market of services, and the possible responsibility for all three services permeating each others. The systems of Polish and foreign standards of elderly people services are presented. Finally the article shows demands which meeting improve the quality of life of seniors and of their families.
