Summary/Abstract: This paper will present comparatively the Christologies of Karl Barth and Saint Cyril of Alexandria (370? - 444). After a presentation of the historical background in which the Christology of Cyril of Alexandria emerged, the paper will analyze Cyril's treatment of the union of the two natures - divine and human - in the unique hypostasis (person) of Jesus Christ. A discussion of Cyril's and Barth's terminology will follow. Subsequently the paper will discuss Barth's treatment of the same Christological issues by comparison with Cyril's treatment.
