Summary/Abstract: This article introduces readers to the history of the term “career designing” and understanding of its conception, relations of career designing to vocational as well as life designing conceptions. It discusses the relation of career designing to such phenomena as “meaning”, “self-development”, “validity and reliability”, “career counselling” and others. Some main epistemological presuppositions of career designing as well as terminology issues are presented.
