Municipal bonds on the Catalyst regulated bond market

Summary/Abstract: The quality of the Polish municipal bond market improved significantly in October 2009 with the establishment of a new bond market – Catalyst. This new secondary market for municipal bonds opens up opportunities for attracting larger numbers of investors and issuers. As regards the units of territorial self-government, it has become more likely for them to raise investment funds more cheaply, which should boost the number of issuers in the local government sector. After one year of the market being operational positive changes have been induced, contributing to issuer numbers growing in real terms.
