Summary/Abstract: Qestions regarding the consequences of the break-up in the field of the foreign policy of both successor states of the Czechoslovak Federative Republic (ČSFR) and the similarities and differences in the development between their independent foreign policies are worth a consideration. An independent foreign policy is one of the basic features of a sovereign state. Therefore we can also wonder how far the successor states have succeeded in utilizing their recently achieved sovereingty in enhancing their mutual relations and establishing their positions on the international scene.
