Summary/Abstract: The text refers to the monograph Dejiny umeleckého prekladu na Slovensku I. [The history of literary translation in Slovakia I.] by Katarína Bednárová. It focuses on the question of the methodology of translation historiography and accentuates the author’s skill at mapping the intricate maze of materials on Slovak relations to foreign texts.
