Summary/Abstract: The present study reports on risk perception by homeless people, who are greatly threatened in their everyday life by different risks, created by the society. A comparison with five other groups of respondents was done. The results obtained for the set to 100 hazards, which were rated on psychometric scale, show that, irrespective of their social position, there are similarities in the way people conceives of risks, but the level of perceived risk is different. Homeless people gave lower rating of perceived risk, than the groups of nurses, teachers and workers, but higher rating of perceived risk than students of engineering and economic. Although they live in circumstances, where the factual risk level is high, homeless people gave lower rating of personal risk. Thinking about the poorness, the unemployment or the lack of housing, food and medical treatment, homeless people are much more concerned about people in general than about themselves. They gave the higher personal risk rating of hazards, which are unknown, uncommon and which possess catastrophic potential: the nuclear accidents. Homeless people do not worry about storms, fires and substances which are dangerous for the health. They are very much concerned with a behaviour of the people, who are their illwishers. Homeless people think that they have small possibility to protect themselves against the risks. Their credibility in media sources and in authority institutions is very low.
