Stereotypy Polski i Polaków w świetle badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych w środowisku studentów zagranicznych
Stereotypes of Poles in the light of the results of surveys carried out among foreign students

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of the surveys carried out for many years among foreign students learning Polish in Poland. The research program also referred to perceptions of Poles and Poland (stereotypes) in students home countries. Conclusions presented in the article are illustrated by commentaries made by the foreigners. Data gathered in the surveys were arranged according to the location of the respondent's country towards Poland. In the second part of the article the author analyses how the stereotypes existing among foreign students influenced their stay in Poland and their contacts with Poles.
