Summary/Abstract: Balázs Béla Végh discusses the case of Swabians who were displaced from Würtenberg province to Nagykároly/Carei in the 19th century. The loss of compact linguistic and cultural locality and the new environment could cause absolute isolation of the german-swabian identity. Therefore they opened up to the Hungarian culture and language, while also influencing Hungarian culture.
