Summary/Abstract: This paper proposes an approach of The King’s Speech, a famous 2010 movie by director Tom Hooper. The main focus is the question of the voice and of the theatrical therapies able to cure speaking disorders. The power of the spoken word is also emphasized here through the analysis of the discourse delivered in front of the nation by Prince Albert. The perspective is comprehensive, because voice is regarded as a main part of the body: it cannot be “brought to light” unless the body is brought to life, with its muscles and bones, in its most delicate movements.
