Summary/Abstract: The myth of the erotic metamorphosis can be defined as an integral abolition of forms and reigns, which makes possible the achievement of the most secret wishes within a heart in search for love. Thus is represented the myth in La nuit remue by Henri Michaux, where the lyric “ego” projects his erotic phantasms in the real world by conferring them an incontestable materiality. By the only means of his spirit, he transforms some water drops in charming young women who incarnate his ideal of love. Being a concretisation of his erotic expectations, these marvelous creatures appear as a symbolic mirror that reflects his deep “ego.” Therefore, the metamorphosis arises as a true self-portrait of the lyric voice.
