Summary/Abstract: For those not versed in the intellectual history of Hungary during the last decade it may be important to know that some of the main arguments of the articles under review here have already featured in a lively debate about Hungary's place in the historical regions of Europe. This debate reached its peak in the early eighties, especially after the publication in 1981 of the late Jenő Szücs's classic essay, "The Three Historical Regions of Europe".
