Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the analysis of the Carpathian-Balkan studies at the Russian Academy of Sciences that have been held since 2006. The Slovak tradition is an important one, as it has the characteristics which are common for the Carpathian zone in whole, furthermore, there are a number of Carpathian-South Slavic and the Carpathian-Balkan parallels in the terminological vocabulary and corresponding phenomena of folk culture.
