FAST GROWING COMPANIES FROM TIMIŞ COUNTY

Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to identify the main features of fast growing companies from Timis county during 2005-2011 period. Fast growing companies are companies with a turnover growth rate of minimum 20%, during 3 consecutive years. We have focused on turnover growth. In our opinion these companies have some common characteristics due to their ability to achieve growth in a economic crisis period of time. There are many reasons of rapid growth (managerial issues, internal and external factors) and many positive effects of this rapid growth for the local environment. There are several reasons for differences of growth process between researched companies but the entrepreneurs and their abilities are the key factor of this process. Our main research goals where to identify which are the best practices of these companies that allowed them to be fast growing. We also found that there are some problems induced by rapid growth (growth crisis) and how they have dealt with them. There are lessons to be learned from these companies, and the main is that they have approached the new crisis situation with determination to grow and looking for opportunities to achieve it.
