Summary/Abstract: The life story of another remarkable woman, St. Macrina (327–380), has been preserved for us by her brother, St. Gregory of Nyssa (approx. 335 – after 394). She spent all her life in a very prosy environment, in the house of her parents. Her story, however, is far from boring. For not only did she attain the highest level of human perfection, but she was also able – by her love for God and her neighbours – to change this ordinary place into extraordinary. Her spiritual development and the changing human relationships are the main themes of this charming literary work.
