Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the issue of local government debt in Poland under the new legislation, which will come into force on January 1st 2014, in the wider context of debt limits, servicing and repayment. The authors also consider the results of the survey conducted in March 2011 by the Bureau of Research (BAS), based on a representative sample of Polish provinces and cities with county rights.
