MOBILITY - COUNTER MOBILITY CORRELATION ON THE MODERN BATTLEFIELD

Summary/Abstract: Military experience, lessons learned from various missions, effective actions executed by battle typical procedures in different geographical conditions, imperiously require that, from peace time, all the measures be taken to contribute to the dismantle negative effects of some geographical factors, in favor of forces mobility and counter mobility. Counter mobility can be analyzed in relationship with mobility. In this respect, it could be mentioned that it is influenced by the same factors: the geographical factor, enemy actions, training, host nation support, technical and material factor. The dynamism, battle actions scale in modern warfare and achieving success as well, will be determined not only by the amount of forces, the means employed, and combat procedures used, but also by the possibility of troops to counter the factors that may reduce their mobility, in order to suit better the conditions on the battlefield.
