Summary/Abstract: Evaluation of professional performance determines the formal, periodical form of the way în which the members of an organization do their job compared to the requirements and standards of evaluation and the methodology used. The way în which the evaluation system is used and the results are communicated can significantly affect staff morale and the climate în a higher education institution. The results of performance evaluation are taken into consideration în other processes which are part of human resources management, such a: training programs, continuous improvement programs, promotion reward, and represent the basis for specific decisions.
