Demographic Aspects of Security

Summary/Abstract: During the different stages of social-political development of mankind, security has often changed its basic meaning. Nowadays, depending on that, which is its subject or object- a single person, a society, a state or a group of states we observe the following several types of security - personal, social, national, regional, collective, mutual and international. Analyzing the different aspects of security we use the achievements of several social sciences. Reproduction and preserving the population, its number, its age-sex structure and other characteristics are being examined. As a result of this interaction of demography and security appears the term demographic security. Extending this demographic security is often connected with enlarging the continuance of human life, increasing the effectiveness of demographic reproduction and enhancing demographic liberty. Also an attention is paid by demographic security to the dependences, observed between the zones of demographic depression and demographic explosion. The originating as a result of this migration pressure leads to disturbing the regional demographic balance and influences the different aspects of security. Some complex interactions and even conflicts between the different types of security may appear.
