Summary/Abstract: This essay analyses the effectiveness of the European Union's capability for conducting crises management operations under CSDP umbrella in the context of rapid development of the IT and communications technologies. It focuses on the communications’ and information systems’ (CIS) viability which influences the systems’ stability during the planning and conducting phases of EU-led Crises Management Operations (CMOs). The CIS viability is a primary requirement in support of the deployed EU structures and forces.
