Summary/Abstract: More and more studies bring to large audiences’ attention the harmful effects of pollution on human health. Therefore, a permanent marker that we had in view was represented by the demonstration of the existence of a connection between pollutant gases, especially the ones with greenhouse effect, and respiratory diseases. This is a paper that addresses those who work in the environmental protection field, but also some other categories of engineering specialists, economists and students. The conclusions drawn in this paper are the result of applying two methods for evaluating the impact on the environment (The Leopold Matrix and The Risk Matrix) and the steps followed after applying these two methods. The present paper is useful because it presents an improved Leopold matrix conducted on four economic agents, CET Palas Constanta, Petromidia Navodari, Lafarge Medgidia and Constanta Port, in Romania.
