Summary/Abstract: Cinema is a natural product not only of various trends in art, bust also of their fusion. These are the trends that develop in art as knowledge (consciousness) and as a social system (institution). Modern communication technologies change the current condition of human consciousness, transforming its status and the general format of life. Fantastic cinema is in itself an enormously popular and demanded genre with mass audiences. This genre is a leader in technological dimensions taking place in film industry, thus (willy-nilly) acquiring meta-reflexive character. Contemporary audiences face a rich fantastic cinema, newly formed over the recent decades and containing examples performing various aesthetical, ideological and financial tasks, oriented towards a variety of audiences. In its capacity of a leading film genre, sci-fi boasts on top of everything else a developed fan culture. The sci-fi film is revolutionarily establishing itself not within the area of individual fantasy, but of the fantasy of the communities of viewers, created with the new regimes for cultural revolutions.
