The Jewish Settlements as Military Force Multiplier

Summary/Abstract: This study aims at determining the position and the importance of the Jewish settlements as military force multiplier in Israel’s security expectation. The study, dealing settlement policy in term of attributed mission, emphasizing its position in security policy and underlining its continuous military role since the foundation of the state, utilizes the historical chain as a verification route for a coherent future projection. In historical review and at analysis stages, the religious/historic prominence of the Jewish settlements and their ascribed merits were not taken into consideration in order to stay away from any subjectivity and to make evaluation in a coherent margin. The focal point of the study is strategic/tactical expectations from the settlements and their potential effects on security understanding. The Jewish settlements are analysed in context of both how they have been utilized and what sort of capacity they have.
