Summary/Abstract: This study aims at analyzing Israel’s security understanding against Palestinians since the foundation of State of Israel with Thomas Hobbes’s aspect of security. After revealing, the conceptual projection of the term of security, Hobbes’s use-of-power-oriented-security-understanding that formed around the concept of “state of nature” was fixed. Israel’s way of dealing with security, starting with the foundation, based on its actions within the stream of history, together with the observation of continuity and change, was ascertained. Then, Israel’s security mentality and behavior in the context of use of force was read with Hobbes’s approach. The goal of synchronized reading is to determine whether Israel’s use-of-force-behavior in her security understanding can be explained or not through Hobbes’s term of “state of nature” and to lay a projection regarding Israel’s security future through this concept.
