Summary/Abstract: The article deals with certain processes that newspapers face at the beginning of 21st century. The focus is on an analysis of the “Nedelnik” newspaper that has been published for a decade in the USA and Canada. The article is based on John Durham Peters’ book Speaking into the Air: A History of the Idea of Communication and discusses the modern relations author-newspaper-reader at the background of a different theory of communication.
