Summary/Abstract: Friedrich Nietzsche’s thoughts on Nature, on the environment, correspond to the emergence, growth and resolution of the modern environmental crisis, as humankind’s greatest crisis. It was as if he were convinced that the social crisis would grow and intensify if “existing social values are not re-evaluated.” The transformation of the common (powerless) man into superman conforms to the views of the United Nations on the resolution of the environmental crisis in such a way that the common man, the ordinary citizen, become master of his planetary, existential and environmental destiny; that he should “take matters into his own hands.” In his teachings, this German philosopher’s starting point is Nature, as a firm and dependable foundation, relying on eastern thinkers – Persian (Zarathustra), Indian (Buddha), Chinese (Confucius). Thus nature as origin, and its preservattion and advancement, can be a reliable basis for constructing the indispensable solid, uniform and dependable modern bridges between East and West.
