Enterprises in the Era of Value Chain Module Relocations

Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes the issue of modularization of the company’s value chain and its relocation. The article is devoted to economic theories and concepts related to the problem of enterprises’ reorganizations through relocations of their value chain modules. The aim of the paper is to outline the context in which modern businesses make value chain modularization decisions, the choices they face in relation to this subject and motives behind module relocation decisions. Therefore, the article can be seen as an explanation of a phenomenon that constitutes a background for many modern economic analyses, and a presentation of a set of options regarding business entity organization. The study is based on secondary sources, predominantly on contemporary literature, and constitutes an attempt to develop the issues in question.
