The legislative aspects of party finance and political corruption in Bulgaria

Summary/Abstract: This article covers the discussion on financing of political parties in Bulgaria, i.e. the abolished and the current laws, as well as the six bills introduced in the last two years by deputies from various parliamentary party groups, taking into account the opportunities afforded for preventing corruption in politics. The criteria for evaluation are a number of key questions to which contemporary democracies constantly seek adequate answers and which define the quality of every national legislation with regard to the financing of parties.
