STUDENTS’ USE OF EDUCATIONAL SOFTWARE FOR DEVELOPING MODEL SERIES IN GARMENT DESIGN CLASSES

Summary/Abstract: The present research proposes the development of educational software that can be used in the practical activities of the garment - fashion design disciplines. The operation of the educational software involves the setting of a database that includes: - Forms catalogs for each corresponding element of the product - Development and use of the coding criteria for the catalogs forms. During the practical activities, the users (students) of the educational software, will be able to provide models series (family models) by using catalogs of forms stored in the database. The obtained models can be viewed and analyzed in terms of garment compositional requirements. Using the proposed software students will learn skills in: -extension of the forms catalogs; - operation with the product elements in order to create new design models; -analysis of the developed models in terms of their correspondence with the principles of garment composition.
