Summary/Abstract: This paperwork is meant to valorize some conclusions drawn from a previous research of authors regarding the emotional intelligence modeling in the personality profile of merchant marine students. In this respect, the authors have established the existence of a special emotional intelligence type, strong cognitive saturated, with a pronounced anticipative-projective character (empathetic predictability). Based on these conclusions, the authors are suggesting that in e-learning processes we are facing with a defective use of emotional intelligence modeling in relation with the educational targets of an efficient distance education technique. Therefore, the authors are pleading for the thesis that the learning processes involve both an intellective status, deep saturated in cognitive perspective, and an intellective – affective experience, in which the virtual trainer plays a more discreet role than in the framework of an immediate interaction as is it stated in the “face-to-face” educational system.
