Environmental approach to energy and its impact on foreign trade of the European Union

Summary/Abstract: This paper presents an analysis of energy sector in the EU, with regard to sustainable development and its impact on trade in the European Union. This approach to energetics on the one hand has a positive effect but on the other a negative impact on trade competitiveness of the EU. In order to fully implement the EU energy policy it would be needed to make an instrument of EU arrangements for the promotion of sustainable development in the energy sector worldwide. Its use would have a positive influence among others on the increase of the competitiveness of the EU’s global trade.
