The possibility of using aid funds from the EU by Polish municipalities in the new financial perspective 2014-2020

Summary/Abstract: Aid funds received from the EU in general contribute to the acceleration of socioeconomic development. Obvious measures for the implementation of projects conducted for example by municipalities come both from the EU budget, as non-refundable measures, and from own sources of self-government. Forecasts show that in near future 2014-2020 municipalities in Poland will have a limited capacity to absorb EU funds. The majority of municipalities will lack in particular the so-called own contribution. In such a situation, local government units shall be limited to use funds from the EU and they will possibly limit their investments to only those co-financed from aid funds.
