Summary/Abstract: This paper provides a preliminary analysis of the animal remains collected in the medieval fortress and the extramuros settlement from Isaccea-Noviodunum during the 2001, 2003-2004 Archaeological Campaigns. Animal remains are described in terms of their frequencies based on the number of identified specimens and the minimal number of individuals. Among the animal resources, domestic birds and mammals constitute the majority. Animal husbandry was an important subsistence activity, but fish and wild animal remains are also present.
