Summary/Abstract: Orthodox spirituality is possible due to God’s revelation to man and the personal character of God and man. This represents the guarantee of the consummate unity with man. Deification is the “reverse” of Christ’s humanization and it is presented as a gift from God and man’s answer given in freedom. Freedom represents the brightest expression of human creation in the image and likeness of God and of the personal character. God also endowed the angels with personal character, but in the case of the fallen angels, the devils, the personal character was distorted. Therefore, they want to pervert all God’s creation. Perceived in such a context, orthodox spirituality is found as personal, namely true, living, free, loving and timeless.
